Student Canvas App - iOS or Android

The student app allows the kids to access their courses and groups on their mobile devices. They can access critical Canvas components such as To-Do items, calendar, and notifications.

Why should you add the student app on your device? It will allow you to see your course as a student. This helps you understand how your course operates on a mobile device because it is a different experience than using a laptop. One of the biggest differences is the home page does not show up.

1. The red app is the student app.

2. The yellow one is for the teacher app.

When the student log in there are two big sections to be aware of.

1. The bottom allows for quick access to vital areas of Canvas such as the calendar.

2. The far left side acts as a dashboard.

The teacher app, the yellow one, looks very similar to the student app.

If you click on the Assignments tab you will see all assignments listed along the far left. This will allow you to quickly see what still needs to be graded.

We recommend taking five to ten minutes to go deeper into the apps to become familiar with the options.
